Bodega Dimobe

Bodegas Dimobe

Bodegas Dimobe, is a family business established in 1927, in Moclinejo, in the province of Malaga. The town of Moclinejo is set on a peak of the Piedras Blancas hills, between olive groves, almond groves and vineyards. The town is also the starting point of the Ruta de la Pasa (Raisin Route).

Viticulture in this area is correctly referred to as 'heroic', due to the extreme climate, limited rain, and precipitous sloping terrain. Mechanisation is impossible and traditional methods, including the use of mules in the vineyard is still the rule rather than the exception.

Dimobe Vineyard

Bodegas Dimobe was originally dedicated to the production of muscatel wine using grapes from its own vineyards within the Málaga DO.

In recent times, Dimobe has expanded it's footprint to include:

  • Axarquía: where Moscatel de Alejandría is produced.
  • Mounts of Málaga: where Pedro Ximénez and Romé are produced.
  • Ronda: where Syrah and the Petit Verdot are produced.

Significant efforts have been channelled towards distribution and investment in facilities and machinery in order to elaborate new wines with new varieties, whilst remaining true to, and maintaining a rich family tradition.

Though its specialities are in sweet and traditional wines, in recent years it has extended the range of wines towards white, rosé, red, sparkling wines and, even, vermouth.
