The Freixenet (pronounced ‘Fresh Annette’) winery is situated in Spain’s Penedes wine region, 50 kms south-west of Barcelona. The Penedes region is one of the oldest wine producing regions in the world and is famous for, and in fact considered the traditional home of, DO Cava (Spain’s major Denominacion de Origen for sparkling wine). Indeed, tradition runs deep in this part of Spain, with the fifth generation of the Ferrer family continuing to run the business.
The Freixenet Group is one of the world’s largest sparling producers and export 80% of all Cava in Spain.
