Godello

Godello

Pronounced: Go-day-yo. Godello is a fantastic varietal not commonly seen in Australia. Hailing from Galicia in North-Western Spain, Godello bursts with primary flavours of golden apple, peach, apricot, lemon zest, quince, and a mouth-watering flinty minerality. Godello provides good acidity, plenty of body and moderate to high levels of alcohol.

When barrel aged, Godello can develop a slightly nutty or toasted character that can make it quite similar to an oak aged Chardonnay.

Perfect Pairing: A beautiful match for Goats cheese, in particular Spanish Manchego, and soft ripened cheeses - Brie through to Roquefort. Outstanding with seafood and salads, but due to Godello's full body, it can cope very well with stronger flavours like anchovies and the Galician specialty pulpo a la gallega (octopus with paprika).
