Trenza Family Collection 2020

This flagship bottling from Bodegas Trenza is a truly exceptional wine. A wine that winemaker Jonas Tofterup says he is proud of. Rightly so, as this is an amazing old vines Monastrell blend from Yecla, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon (14%) and Garnacha Tintorera (13%).

This exceptionally crafted wine delivers aromas of blackberries, black cherries, ripe black plums combined with a rich mixture of Asian spices, toasted oak and cigar box. On the palate the black fruits are intensified by the complimentary notes of rich chocolate, cloves, vanilla, and roasted coffee. The wine is full bodied, filling your mouth with lots of subtle, ripe tannins and juicy fruit. The wine is high in alcohol, possessing of lovely freshness and acidity and has a delicious long lingering finish. This is a very age worthy wine that will keep nicely through till at least 2035.

Subtle but strong tannins, high alcohol, fresh, high acid. Great length, and age worthy. A lovely wine.

Perfect Pairing: A supreme wine for red meat and game. Excellent with roasted duck, roasted Mediterranean lamb, venison, pheasant, beef cheeks, ossobuco, pork spare-ribs, or rare steak (a New York sirloin or T-Bone would be perfect). Also wonderful with powerful cheeses.
